What Readers Are Saying

Find out what readers loved about my debut novel!
It’s full of compelling female characters, each as complex as the last. Gwen is frustrating and reckless, but you can’t help but root for her to save the people closest to her. Lucaya is a delicious, sexy villain. It’s hard to not fall head-over-heels for her. Elena is the best cinnamon roll.
I loved this book! I’m not a big sci-fi reader, but I enjoy dystopian stories, and Shadow Girl is really a perfect balance between the two. The sci-fi concepts weren’t above my head and the commentary on modern society was thought-provoking (if not a punch in the gut! ). A book for thinkers and for those not satisfied with the status quo.
What hooked me immediately was Gwen. She’s not the kind of main character you expect going in—she’s complicated, morally gray, sometimes frustrating, but completely fascinating. I loved watching her arc unfold, especially as the mysterious shadow woman slipped further into her dreams and blurred the line between obsession and destruction.
I loved the relationship and dynamics between Gwen and Lucaya. The sapphic yearning in this book is absolutely perfection. I also loved the friendship between Gwen and Elena, and I liked the growth and change that Elena had. I can’t wait for book 2!
